Fear world: Valaheri found her watercolours.
After more than 15 years.
Scared?
Ink 0.05 + watercolours
Since the last time I coloured with this media I was a child, I decidedly felt the need of a little help so I did a quick research on DA and found a nice, clear tutorial: [link] thank ~mirrew, it saved me!
What Ive learnt:
First: Im a coward of the colour: Ive not the bravery to use it in the real world.
Second: I will not leave the digital media and my beloved Photoshop.
Third: in the real world there isnt the undo command, neither the History tool.
Forth: my esteem and respect toward those who use normally watercolour as first media (and here, between watchers and friends, are a discrete number) is ENORMOUSLY increased.
Question to the more experts: the total lack of brightness can be due to the ultra low quality of the watercolours I used (and their ancient age) or just to my lack of skill? I had to use the contrast to make the drawing a little more of impact
This is a very dfferent piece of mermaid art, very good, it does go to show that there maybe evil lurking in the depths of our oceans, they sing a song of love and promise, lure you in and eat you for dinner
I remember in art class last year after working in on the computer so long I actually though of pushing an undo button automatically whenever I got something wrong, but sadly there was none. The kelpie and the mermaids look really cool.
Too gorgeous for words, I love this so much! Beautiful painting, especially on the contours of the kelpie's body and muscles. I really really like the concept behind it too.
One question: are they underwater? if so, I wish you'd painted the mermaids' hair all floaty too
thank you VERY much for the kind comment: this is a pic that I enjoyed very much while working on it, so I'm particularly glad if people like it.
Caught! Yes, they are meant to be under water and you are totally right. I too realized there was something wrong with the "wet", not floating air, but it was a bit late since I had already inked it!
